The terms for using Wayguide’s writing tools, AI guidance, and related services.
On this page
Your agreement
These terms describe the agreement between you and Wayguide LLC, a limited liability company organized in Delaware, for your use of Wayguide’s account-based writing tools and related services (the “Services”). References to “Wayguide,” “we,” and “us” mean Wayguide LLC.
The agreement begins when you affirmatively accept these terms through an acceptance step that identifies them, such as a checkbox or clearly labeled account action. Reading our public website or following a footer link alone does not constitute acceptance. Review the terms before accepting. If you disagree, do not accept or use the Services covered by that acceptance.
What Wayguide provides
Wayguide helps applicants explore experiences, organize story notes, develop personal statements, and review their writing. Features may include AI conversations, drafting assistance, analysis, feedback, and saved versions. Human guidance or support may be available when offered. Availability, scope, and response times depend on the particular offering.
AI suggestions can be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Wayguide provides writing assistance, not an admissions decision or a substitute for your judgment. We do not guarantee a particular statement, response time, interview, admission, residency match, or other application outcome. We do not speak for application services, medical schools, or residency programs.
Do not rely on Wayguide for patient care or medical, legal, or financial decisions. Writing assistance does not create a clinical or other professional advisory relationship.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter this agreement to use the Services. Provide accurate account information, keep your contact details current, and protect your login credentials. Do not share an account, impersonate someone else, or access another person’s account without authorization.
You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact team@wayguide.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may take reasonable steps to verify ownership before restoring access or acting on requests involving private content. Do not send passwords or authentication codes in support messages.
Free access
Wayguide is currently free for all customers. These terms do not authorize a charge, subscription, or automatic billing. If we introduce a paid offering, we will explain its price and relevant terms and obtain your separate affirmative agreement before charging you. You can decline that offering without incurring a charge.
Free availability does not promise that every feature will remain available indefinitely. Any change to access is subject to the service-change provisions below.
Your writing and responsibilities
Your final submission must accurately describe your own experiences, qualifications, contributions, and perspective. Review and revise suggestions before using them. Verify factual statements, specialty or program information, citations, formatting, deadlines, and any other material relevant to your application. Do not invent experiences or present another person’s writing as your own.
Application services and individual programs set their own rules for AI assistance, editing, originality, and disclosure. Check the current rules that apply to each submission and follow them. Wayguide cannot determine whether a particular use will be accepted or satisfy every program’s requirements. We do not guarantee originality, plagiarism clearance, or an AI detector’s assessment.
Patient privacy and your information
Do not include identifiable patient information, clinical records, login credentials, or confidential third-party information in writing or messages you submit to the Services. When discussing clinical experiences, focus on your own actions and learning. Removing a name alone may leave someone identifiable through dates, locations, unusual circumstances, or other details.
Wayguide does not guarantee that it will detect, remove, or de-identify sensitive information. Use of the Services does not establish HIPAA compliance or replace your professional, institutional, or confidentiality obligations. Our privacy policy explains our information practices and how to contact us about access, export, correction, or deletion. This agreement does not waive privacy rights provided by applicable law.
Content and output rights
You retain your rights in the stories, drafts, messages, and other material you provide (“your content”). You must have the rights or permission needed to provide it and allow the processing described here. Your content does not become our property because you use Wayguide.
You give us a limited, nonexclusive license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and process your content as needed to provide the Services you request, generate responses, maintain and secure the Services, and provide disclosed support or human review. We may use service providers for these purposes as described in our privacy policy. This license does not authorize publishing your writing as marketing or licensing it to other customers.
As between you and Wayguide, we assign to you any rights we hold in output generated for you, to the extent those rights exist and can be assigned. AI output may not qualify for copyright protection, may resemble output provided to others, and may contain material subject to other people’s rights. We do not guarantee exclusivity, copyrightability, or freedom from third-party claims.
The service-purpose license lasts only as long as needed for the purposes above and the limited retention described in our privacy policy. It does not grant an unrestricted right to reuse your writing. Wayguide retains its rights in its software, brand, and service materials, excluding your content and assigned output rights.
Acceptable use
Use Wayguide lawfully and respect other people’s rights. Do not use it to fabricate application credentials, impersonate another applicant, plagiarize, harass others, distribute malicious code, or disclose private information without authorization.
Do not bypass access restrictions, probe accounts you do not own, interfere with security controls, or automate access in a way that disrupts the Services or evades reasonable usage limits. Do not copy or redistribute our software or service materials without permission, except where applicable law permits it. Report suspected security problems to our contact email without accessing or exposing other customers’ information.
Third-party services
Wayguide relies on providers for functions such as hosting, authentication, and AI processing. Our privacy policy describes the relevant information practices. Links to independent websites or services are provided for convenience. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices.
Review those terms when you choose to use an independent service. We do not control its content or availability, and a link does not imply endorsement. This does not remove responsibilities that applicable law places on Wayguide for providers we engage.
Service changes and ending access
We may update, add, limit, or retire features prospectively. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect access to your stored work and explain available export options. Urgent security, legal, or operational issues may require action sooner.
You may stop using Wayguide at any time. Contact us about closing your account, exporting available content, or requesting deletion under our privacy policy. We may restrict or end access for material misuse, security risks, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the Services. Where practical, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue. Retention and deletion remain subject to the privacy policy and applicable law.
Service limitations and liability
To the extent applicable law permits, the Services are provided as available, without additional promises of uninterrupted access, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or a specific result. Keep your own copies of important writing. These limitations do not override an express commitment we separately make to you or a guarantee, remedy, or duty that the law does not allow us to exclude.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Wayguide is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Services. Nothing here excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer rights and available statutory remedies remain intact.
Updates, questions, and disputes
We will identify updated terms by their date and provide reasonable notice of material changes. Changes apply prospectively. Where fresh acceptance is required, we will request it. Posting a revision alone does not create your affirmative acceptance or authorize a new use of previously provided content.
Delaware law governs this agreement, subject to mandatory consumer protections and other nonwaivable rights under the law that applies to you. If a concern arises, contact team@wayguide.com so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us first is encouraged, not a requirement that prevents you from seeking a legal remedy, contacting a regulator, or exercising your rights.
General terms
These terms, together with any additional terms you expressly accept for a particular offering, are the agreement concerning the Services they cover. If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
Provisions that by their nature need to continue after access ends, including applicable content rights, privacy obligations, liability limitations, and dispute provisions, survive termination. Nothing in these general terms limits rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
